In just over an hour Benny will be thirty. He’s a talented musician, loyal friend and… he works in HMV. Max, Frank and Karen have all come around to help him celebrate his birthday and ensure Benny reaches his true potential.
POTENTIALS is a dark comedy that explores the nature of success and the sense of staying true to a youthful pact, staged with extensive use of multimedia and live AV.

The play was chosen as the winner from over 100 entries to a New Writing Competition by judges including Jeremy Kingston (Critic, The Times), Charlotte Westenra (Director, Kiss of the Spider Woman) and Don McCamphill (Soho Theatre). Winning author Dominic Mitchell was part of the Paines Plough/Channel 4 ‘Future Perfect’ attachment. His play How to Draw a Perfect Circle was performed at the Soho Theatre in May 2007.
